Hospital respite rooms

The hospital is a busy place at the best of times and coupled with the worry of illness it can be an extremely overwhelming place. For Jewish patients and families, the lack of kosher provisions within the hospital complex presents an extra challenge.

We have respite rooms in 6 hospitals across Greater Manchester including North Manchester General (Crumpsall), Salford Royal (Hope), Fairfield General Hospital (Bury), University Hospital of South Manchester (Wythenshawe Hospital), Christies and Central Manchester University Hospital, (St Marys, Childrens and MRI).

Known as the "Shabbos Rooms" these rooms are open 24/7 and are stocked throughout the week with fresh Kosher food both hot and cold, warming facilities as well as appropriate reading material.

All of the provisions and facilities are free of charge and we are extremely grateful and indebted to our team of volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure they are well stocked and clean and to our suppliers who help us so generously.

These respite rooms are a source of support, comfort and calmness to the hundreds of visitors who benefit from them.
